The European cooperation of our partner schools is supposed to follow the topic “Let`s eat together”.  Food and eating habits will be the central point within which the pupils will work together and which is supposed to have a lifelong effect on students..

This subject offers starting points to gain insight into foreign cultures and ways of life. The pupils can compare their findings about other cultures to their own one recognizing differences and similarities concerning their national identity. This should lead us to convergence forgetting national borders. As a result prejudice could be reduced and sympathy for being culturally different could emerge because of the student`s knowledge about the prevailing social, cultural and historical context.

Martin-Luther-Gymnasium Frankenberg - Germany WebPage
Martin-Luther-Gymnasium Frankenberg is situated in Saxony in the East of Germany. It lies in a rural area with hardly any industry nearby. This results in a high unemployment rate. Our ca. 650 students come from Frankenberg, its surrounding villages and the town of Hainichen, as the school there was closed down. They can specialize in maths and sciences or in languages at our school. Our longlasting partnership with C.E.I.P. Santa Rita Galdo has existed since 1998. Lots of our students are interested in international partnership meeting regularly in a club at school planning and carrying out tasks partly on their own.

Our location on the Swiss border enables us to meet people from other countries every day. This “natural” openess creates the wish of our students to get into contact with other nations and makes it easier for them to accept other cultures.
